Hello, I’m Glenn Wilson and I will be running as a candidate for Parkes Shire Council local government election. Joining me are 7 other candidates who are passionate about Parkes Shire, who make up Group B on the ballot paper. We believe Parkes Shire Council needs a team of Councillors dedicated to representing YOU! the residents and ratepayers of our Parkes Shire. 

We know that with the right support from Council, life in Parkes Shire can be even better and opportunities more accessible to all. We envision a Council that works with you, smoothing the way for you to achieve your goals and live out your best life here in Parkes Shire. With our Group B team, you have a group of likeminded intelligent future focused councillors determined to make Parkes better.

We are committed to making living in Parkes Shire more affordable, helping to ease the cost of living for our residents. One of our priorities is to support more land to be made available for housing. In previous years, Parkes Council has delayed and also blocked subdivisions which are vitally needed for new housing. This has caused a shortage of building blocks, which has caused land values to hugely increase, which not only makes home ownership way more expensive, but it also drives up land values and then everyone's rates skyrocket up. YOU PAY MORE!

Transparency and accountability are at the heart of our values. We believe in the responsible use of ratepayer funds and finding the best ways to invest these resources back into our community.

Almost everyone in Parkes shire wants RED garbage bins collected WEEKLY. Orange and Bathurst council have weekly red bin collection, so why can’t we?

Healthcare is also on top of our list to get MATERNITY back at our new Parkes Hospital. A new strong council is needed to unite the community to commence a big push for the State government to reverse the previous Coalition decision to deny us Maternity at Parkes Hospital.

We also want medical education facilities to be built here at Parkes, to encourage graduates to stay in our country regions.

Our roads and infrastructure are the backbone of our community. Too many of our roads are in a shocking condition, and we deserve much better roads!

There is a gigantic energy from waste facility going to be built here at Parkes by the State government. We want to make sure any such facility uses international best practice technology to make sure our air quality, human health and environment are protected. 

We believe that every resident within the shire, whether living in the heart of Parkes or in our more rural areas, deserves to feel included and heard. We are here to represent YOU!
